What colour is morning? Mornings have always been synonymous with new beginnings. What a lovely feeling it is to see the Sun rise above the horizon and to feel the warmth of the sun rays on your skin. The way the sunlight pours in through the window, bathing the room in a warm amber glow, filling it with the promise of new beginnings, the day brimming with hope and possibility. There is something about dawn that makes each day a gift. The way it gently unwraps itself, bit by bit, peeling the layers to expose a bright new day full of endless possibilities. Nature is at its best at this golden hour. Just thinking about the fact that I can mould this day into whatever kind of day I want, do whatever I choose to do to gives me a profound sense of power.

In this endless cosmos of ours, we are nothing but a speck of dust and each morning is like a new awakening. Every morning, the big and formidable tasks seem not-so-big anymore. Even if for a little while, everything feels doable, as if you can conquer the world. That is why I feel, people base their confidence on the next morning and look forward to the ensuing day to start over again, this time with the wisdom of yesterday.

It is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world ~ Mary Oliver

The early morning quietness is like no other. Time goes by gradually, everything seems to slow down and you can enjoy a few moments of peace without the routine haste of the day. The smell of tea and coffee wafting around the house, fresh crisp newspaper on the coffee table, hearing the muffled sounds of vehicles, machines whirring, distant chatter of people talking and breathing the sweet air of dawn gives me a sense of awe and delight.

It is such a surreal feeling to experience the magic of mornings. The city has just awoken from its slumber and you can hear the faint sounds of early morning activities floating in from a distance. The Sun just above the horizon, painting the sky with a deep reddish glow as if with a celestial hand, embedding shades of crimson, magenta, orange and pink. It is a breathtaking display of colours, streaks of red, orange and yellow, struggling to overcome the blue and purple of dawn. And gradually it turns into a beautiful array of perfectly blended hues, encompassing every colour that could tumble from a box of pastels. The way the sun works its magic each day, spreading its gold over the horizon, revealing and solidifying the world as know it, without the asking, not needing an invitation, yet, finding its welcome. The shades are as diverse as grains of sand, like seashells. The little pearls that the sea uncovers with each crest and trough of its waves. At first glance, they all look the same, yet each is as distinct as a fingerprint, every hue ordinarily extraordinary. I love how mornings have a soft, gentle impression to them, everything it touches comes alive with faith and goodness. The air becomes sweeter, the world softened by the cool sepia hues of the early morning sky.

I adore how enchanting mornings are! When everyone is snuggled in the warmth of their beds and the first time you open your eyes, all you can see is light everywhere. It's a bright kind of morning, and the world has just begun to thrive and nature is at work already. The day is filled with so much energy, you just cannot stay in bed any longer. There is a quaint sense of belongingness to mornings. Sometimes when you are the only one awake in the house and there is tranquillity all around, you feel a sense of wholeness. It's the only time when you can dedicate those precious moments of solitude to yourself and that is one principal reason why mornings are my preferred time of the day.

On fine days such as these, you can feel the energy of your surroundings, the trees, the sky and the mellifluous birdsong. They say the universe is all connected, and in this moment, the possibility seems very real, almost tangible. I feel time really slows down in the morning and it provides you with the opportunity and the headspace to step back and reflect on the things that matter, to set intentions for the day. I love how everything feels a bit unreal and strange during the first few moments of the day, everything is a bit unfamiliar as if you're living in a trance-like state and viewing the world as a foreign observer, not quite having gained the sense of ownership of your body. The visions of the night yet to give way to those of the day.

It's the only time of the day when everything feels pure and pristine and if you look around, there is a lot of beauty to be seen, that which we usually miss as we go about doing our business mindlessly without really giving a thought about the mundane things of beauty that surround us. Right from the very ordinary things in life, such as a warm cup of coffee in the morning, waking up in a cosy bed, waking up to a family or simply waking up to see a new day.

Mornings offer us a second chance, another opportunity to redeem ourselves, to improve on things that didn't go well the first time. Life gives us all this opportunity to start over again each day, no matter how many chances we've left, no matter how terribly we think we have messed up the previous day and that nothing can be done to improve it. It is such a beautiful feeling to know that you've got another chance to start anew, afresh. And most importantly, knowing that the entire day ahead in front of you is yours to seize!
